One evening during one of our staff meetings at Roslyn Salt Cave last spring, we were brainstorming (as we always do) on how to further improve our level of service. One of the subjects that came up was the influx of pregnant women seeking prenatal massage and the challenges of making them comfortable. The solution was to purchase a specialized prenatal massage table for expectant mothers.

Prenatal massage is tailored to the specific needs of mom’s to be, but once they reach the third trimester, it becomes even more challenging. When a woman is in her third trimester, it becomes impossible to lay on her belly and all of the challenges that come with being pregnant such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps and swelling (to name a few) can be helped by a relaxing massage. Besides just physical relief, a good prenatal massage can also offer emotional balance and reduction of stress.
